Cooperative Concept

Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy, and attractive residence where each of our members may enjoy an active, independent, care-free lifestyle in a sharing environment.

Membership in a Cooperative

Persons applying for membership must be 55 years or older and lead an independent lifestyle. We are not a continuing care community. Silver Glen complies with the federal Fair Housing Act. Applicants must meet minimum income requirements and pass credit and background checks. Since we are self-governing, we rely on our members to share their time and talent to keep our cooperative functioning successfully.

Silver Glen Cooperative Organizational Structure

Self-governance is a key feature of Silver Glen. Our Cooperative is governed by a seven-person Board of Directors which members elect annually. These terms are staggered so that each Board member serves for three years. In addition, the Board has established standing committees who implement its policies.
