Q: Do you screen applicants?
A: Yes, all new applicants are screened by the Board to insure a good fit with the community and good neighbors for you. You will need to provide your financial information, and pass a credit and criminal background check.
Q: Do I own my unit?
A: You own a 123rd share of the entire community. In most cases you are buying a membership from the previous member or their heir.
Q: Do I have any say in how we operate?
A: Yes. your unit is assigned one vote. You vote for the Board members who act on your behalf for the benefit of all. There is no far-off management group guiding us for their self interests.
Q: Why only 4 meals a month?
A: At Silver Glen it is your choice whether to dine mostly in your own apartment or in the community dining room. Eating together is a wonderful way for neighbors to get to know one another so each member receives four dinner coupons per month. Some people eat in the dining room once a week and view it as a special occasion. Others buy extra coupons to eat in the dining room more frequently or use them to entertain family or friends.
Q: Can I bring a pet?
A: Yes, pets are allowed with certain restrictions. Talk to our Property Manager for more information.
Q: What about cars?
A: Most units have assigned, secure underground parking for one car, (no RVs). Limit 2 vehicles.
Q: Can I remodel my unit?
A: Yes, the Board will approve most remodels, but a prior review of plans and vendors is required.
Q: What comes with each unit?
A: Each unit is provided with fresh paint, carpeting, refrigerator, range, dishwasher, furnace, and storage lockers. Washer & dryer are your responsibility. (Some units have gas fireplaces.)
